Originally developed for demanding auto race applications, our premium oil filter is rapidly becoming a favorite among consumers for its durability and easy removal. Weve changed oil filters and several of our product development technicians are sportsman class drag racers. They insisted we offer an oil filter that corrected the headaches they experienced over the years changing oil filters.
Our Oil Filters Have Nuts
We have all been there: Whether its remembering where that disappearing canister tool is; or having oil leak all over your garage and yourself; or finally giving up and pounding a screwdriver through the filter just to get if off. Each of our automotive and marine oil filters comes with a 1 nut welded to the top of the canister so they can be easily wrenched-off with a standard tool. Our motorcycle and ATV oil filters come with a 17 mm nut.
Heavy-Duty Construction for Extreme Conditions To satisfy the demands of racers, our oil filter has many features over and above the requirements of most vehicles. We use thicker canister walls for extra strength and durability which reduces the risk of damage from loose rocks and debris. The heavy-duty construction will withstand higher oil pressures found only in racing environments without bursting. The drilled hole on the nut is for a safety wire attachment. Required for many types of racing, the safety wire prevents blown oil filters from falling on the track and representing a hazard to other race vehicles. This extra engineering offers peace of mind for consumers who want only the best.

Our oil filters use resin impregnated cellulose filter media. This allows for higher flow rates while providing outstanding filtration. High filter flow rates are important in racing vehicles where heavier grade oil is used and the oil is pumped much faster than in a standard vehicle. When the engine is circulating oil at high GPM rates, the high-flow oil filter helps reduce the loss of pressure through the filtering process.

Our oil filters are ideal for high-end synthetic motor oil. Synthetic motor oil is said to offer improved flow performance at cold temperatures while providing superior protection against thermal degradation.
Our oil filters are covered by a limited warranty to be free from defects in materials and workmanship when installed and replaced using engine and equipment manufacturers recommended service intervals.
Our Performance Gold Oil Filters use a cellulose media bound by phenolic resin surrounding a metal inner core that provides structural strength to reduce the risk of filter collapse. The resin is the "glue" that holds the media fibers together and at the same time keeps "pores" open by keeping the fibers apart. The resin is cured to full strength during the element manufacturing process. Phenolic resin systems are an excellent choice for the high temperature demands of oil filters. Our filter includes an anti-drainback valve, when applicable, that prevents oil from draining back into the crankcase during engine shutdown. The anti-drainback valve is useful in situations where the filter is mounted horizontally which could allow backflow. We use rolled threads to help prevent stripping during installation or removal and an internally lubricated gasket provides a positive seal even after the filter has been removed and reinstalled.

The colored handles are hard anodized. This process creates a longer-lasting, more durable finish for pieces that will be handled often. This process also creates a darker finish than typical anodizing.

The Cometic MLS gasket is comprised of three layers of Stainless Steel. Cometic uses Stainless steel for increased strength, its ability to rebound and corrosion resistance. The outer layers of the gasket are embossed and coated on both sides with a flouroelastomer rubber based material (Viton) designed to meet the demands of a variety of harsh sealing environments, load conditions and surface finishes. The Viton coating is heat resistant to 2500C or 4820F.
The center or shim layer of the gasket is comprised of an uncoated Stainless Steel layer, which can be varied to accommodate multiple thickness requirements. The MLS gasket is ideal for both aluminum heads to cast iron blocks and aluminum heads to aluminum blocks.
The composition of MLS will also withstand the shearing forces created by aluminum heads on cast iron blocks. No re-torque is necessary. By design the MLS gasket promotes an even torque load across the sealing surface allowing for measurable reduced bore distortion.

SSP PERFORMANCE Teflon Gaskets, prevent heat soak from occurring, by insulating the intake manifold and throttle bodies against the unwanted heat generated by the cylinder head.
Before air can enter the combustion chamber of your engine, it first has to enter the air filter, travel through inter cooler piping, pass through the throttle body, enter the intake manifold, and finally enter the cylinder head.
There are many points along the path of this air flow where the air encounters heat. The ambient air temperature within the engine compartment can heat all of the surfaces along this path. This is called heat soak, and quite simply....it robs power from your engine.
A cooler intake means denser, more oxygen rich air, and a much better fuel burn resulting in more power.
Revised and upgraded OEM timing chain for the Evo X. Since the original OEM timing chains were prone to stretch, Mitsubishi released heartier this timing chain to minimize stretch and increase lifespan.
If you're making over 400whp, you'll want these upgraded pulleys to keep your serpentine belt intact! The Mitsubishi OEM pulleys are made from plastic and will permanently distort with big power, causing your belt to walk and shred time and time again. Don't leave yourself stranded and constantly in need of a new belt. Fix the problem by installing these steel pulleys.
Note: The OEM belt tensioner has a small lip which will need to be ground down to ensure proper the clearance for the pulley to fit.
COMETIC MLX (Multi-Layer Stopper) gaskets utilize an integrated stopper layer for combustion chamber sealing and improved clamp load around the cylinder without increasing bore distortion. MLX technology can be found in some head gaskets and are made from the same materials as our MLS Head Gaskets. No sealants or re-torque required.

ARP - The world leader in fastener technology has just released a new Pro Series ARP2000 main stud kit for 2008 and later Mitsubishi 2.0L (4B11) Turbo and Non Turbo applications.
Part No. 207-5403 - includes a set of ten, M10 ARP2000 main studs, a set of ten, M8 ARP2000 main studs, twenty 8740 chromemoly steel 12 pt nuts and a 1/2 oz. pack of ARP Ultra-Torque fastener assembly lubricant.
All Pro Series ARP2000 studs are centerless ground, heat treated prior to thread rolling and machining, and are nominally rated at 220,000 psi. These fasteners deliver a 50% increase in tensile strength over the OEM main bolts.
Aluminum has a greater thermal conductivity than plastic, meaning that this aluminum unit will help prevent boiling of power steering fluid on the track. This unit is direct replacement for the factory unit.
BC gaskets are made in Japan and deliver the ultimate sealing capability even at extreme boost pressures. Individual die cut layers of stainless steel with superior consistency compared to other leading gaskets. These inferior brands are constructed with too high profile of beads which is prone to fatigue, losing the spring effect in a relatively short period of time and consistency of sealing pressure, resulting in leakage. BC gaskets are pre-coated stainless steel with a 0.2 micron consistent layer of Nitrile rubber that completely fills the cylinder head surface. Even a newly resurfaced cylinder head and/or block has a surface finish or roughness between 10 to15 microns and this Nitrile rubber completely seals the surfaces at operating engine temperatures, unlike the FKM type which is not suitable for filling the surface roughness because the material has too high of heat resistance. Basically the FKM does not melt to fill into the surface roughness providing the proper seal.
