Turbomotiv has manufactured a solution for EVO X owners that have experienced failures in the factory MIVEC exhaust cam gear housing after installing upgraded valve springs. It has been noticed over time that the stock cast aluminum housing will develop cracks in key areas that can cause a loss of MIVEC control when valve spring seat pressure from upgraded valve springs is increased or during loss of oil pressure. By enlarging the overall diameter and CNC machining it from billet 6061-T6 aluminum, they have increased the overall strength of the piece, making it more resistant to failure.

Hypertune HypEX 347-SS exhaust manifolds are investment cast from 347 stainless steel due to its vastly superior performance in high-temperature applications compared to commonly used materials. All components, including pipe elbows, are unique to Hypertune and are designed specifically for extreme-duty exhaust applications. They do not use off-the-shelf steam pipe elbows. This allows them to offer a high-performance manifold that is light weight and extremely durable.
This turbo is similar to the GT2860RR, except it has an upgraded billet compressor wheel.
